Independent senior

Bev and her new friend make a deposit at the bank, keep her hair appointment, pick up a prescription and milk and are back home in less than an hour.  Her errands for the day are completed, she was never more than two blocks from home and there was no driving or parking required.  This is independent senior living at its best.

Bev feels good and energized about the start of the day. The social time is always something to look forward to, and the ability to get her work out of the way without waiting for a ride from her daughter keeps you feeling independent and in control of her own preferences.

On Thursday afternoons, she visit the Farmers Market in front of our urbanSenior Living community.  There are fresh vegetables, fruits, honey, goat cheese, and bakery goods are artfully displayed by the growers and food artisans.  Live music plays in the background, and young children are entertained by learning how to make bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches.

It is a wonderful sunny day and Bev has been joined by 5 to 6 of her friends and urbanSenior neighbors, who want to watch the cooking demonstration at 4:30pm.

On Saturday Bev is planning to visit her daughter to work on framing old family photos for her daughter’s new condominium.  Before Bev leaves she walks next door to our Old Orchard Gallery and purchases some photographs that will look wonderful with her daughter’s new furniture.  That evening when she returns, several of her neighbor friends invite her to dinner in the Big Sky Café.  Why cook when someone will serve an outstanding meal while we visit, and allow us to sit out on the patio while they do the dishes?

No driving, no parking, no gas expenses, and no waiting for rides.  All the errands were done quickly and easily, and there was plenty of quality time left over for friends and family.  The typical urbanSeniorLiving campus brings the services and conveniences to you, rather than you wasting a lot of time and money finding them.  It is a convenient, healthy and cost effective way to live.  This is what it means to be an independent senior.  ”
